A specification drawn as a tree: the finished product, what it is made from, and the materials it buys, with the cost each branch adds.

A product’s recipe in Keelvy: materials, steps and the cost of one unit.

Replaces MRPeasy, Katana, and the whiteboard in the workshop.

Sound familiar?

The four questions every workshop asks

THE RECIPE

The recipe lives in one person’s head

How much goes in, which packaging, how many minutes. Ask three people and get three answers.

  • Each product lists what goes into it, packaging included.
  • Change a component once and every product that uses it updates.
  • Every size and color is worked out for you.
THE PLAN

A big order arrives and you can’t say when

Two runs want the same machine, and one of them is late before it starts.

  • Every production order sits on a calendar beside the others.
  • See each machine’s load, and the busiest one flagged.
  • Drying, curing and cooling count as time too.
THE SHORTAGE

You find out what is missing when the run stops

Half the glaze is there, the box has not arrived, and the order is due Friday.

  • An order reserves its own materials, so nothing is promised twice.
  • See the shortfall before work starts.
  • A shortage becomes a draft purchase order, with your supplier’s prices.
THE COST

What did that batch really cost?

The price was set a year ago, and nobody has checked it against what the batch actually used.

  • Materials at what you paid, hours from the work logged, overhead where you allocate it.
  • Planned against actual for each production order.
  • Batch and lot numbers answer a recall with one search.
How it works

From a whiteboard to a plan in a week.

01

Describe how you make it

Add each product’s recipe: materials, steps and the time they take.

02

Plan the orders

Production orders go on the calendar, and materials are set aside for each.

03

Make it and see the cost

Log the work as it happens. Stock updates, and the cost of every batch appears.

Who it is for

Made for people who make things.

Workshops and small factories

Furniture, ceramics, candles, cosmetics: a few people and a lot of steps.

Brands that make part in-house

Some products you buy in, some you make, and the stock must tell both truths.

Anyone with batches and shelf life

Food, cosmetics and home care need lot numbers and expiry dates.

Questions

Questions about MRP

What is an MRP?

An MRP (material requirements planning) system works out what you need to make, what to buy and when, from your recipes and your orders.

We are a small workshop. Is this too much?

Start with recipes and production orders and leave the rest switched off. The planning and the cost only appear as you use them.

Do my makers need accounts?

Your team is part of the plan, with no fee per person. They log hours and mark steps done from the same app.

Can it handle batches and expiry dates?

Yes. Every delivery comes in with its lot number, production uses lots in the order you choose, and each finished batch keeps a list of what went into it.

Does it connect to my shop?

Yes. Keelvy connects to Shopify and your other channels, and stock stays one number everywhere.
